I am convinced that the world is divided into two types of people: those that like to celebrate their birthday and those that do not.
Daniel? When he turned 50, which is a big birthday, he didn’t even want me to remind any of our friends, much less have any type of party to celebrate. I don’t even remember if we went out for dinner or cooked anything special, that’s how uneventful his birthday was. Which was just the way Daniel likes it.
Hannah? When the new year dawns, like on January 1, she will gleefully announce, “It’s almost my birthday!” Her birthday is May 24.
So, happy happy birthday to my sweet girl. Hannah Hope Kim turns 14 today. She is a blessing, a gift, our hope. I am privileged to be her mother.
