I want to share with you a behind-the-scenes story from the concert. After our elementary school kids from our Beginning Band and Orchestra performed, they were packing up to go home. Since they had had their last class and the concert was over, we had to collect their instruments. Some kids didn’t realize they wouldn’t get to keep the instruments. Suddenly, they filled the room with their questioning voices: “What? We have to give these back?! Can we play just one last song?”
So they did. They played one last song.
This is the joy, folks, that we give to a child that might not have had a chance to learn the violin, the trumpet, the trombone. The concert was indeed amazing. We were once again overwhelmed with your love and support, and your open generosity in buying tickets, bidding on auction items, and donating your time and money, to the Dragon Kim Foundation. Your contributions help enable kids like these find and explore their passions. Who knows where this newfound passion for music will lead them? But imagine how it feels for a child to get to have a lovely trumpet for a year, to have lessons on Fridays with their friends, and to play in front of a packed house in an amazing concert? I know accomplishments like these that stem from their hard work and dedication shaped our kids — Dragon and Hannah — and I can only imagine how much it will do for all these other children. Thank you for joining us in our mission to make these opportunities accessible for all children. Thank you for joining us to reach for the stars.
Please come support us again next year!

A benefit concert doesn’t just come together because we want it to. It is the result of months of planning and organizing, from a group of dedicated individuals. We owe a debt of gratitude to our amazing and talented Concert Committee! We could NOT do this without you.
